Chocolate Banana Bread Bites

These chocolate banana bread bites are a quick and easy snack you can whip up in minutes.

I love making one or two batches of energy bites to have during the week because they’re such a great, quick grab and go snack to have on hand. I don’t know about you, but I can sometimes get pretty hangry between meals or when I’m out and about doing a million things.

I’ll often stash some bites in a tupperware and throw them in my purse if I know i’ll be doing lots of errands. If I haven’t prepared energy bites, I’ll find the closest store to buy hummus or baba ghanoush with carrots and pita bread. I think I could probably live off hummus and pita bread – it’s a staple in my life.

You will need:


oat flour

cacao powder


chia seeds

chocolate chips

Chocolate Banana Bread Bites (makes 10)


  • 1/2 cup dates
  • 1 banana
  • 3-4 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 cup oat flour
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • chocolate chips (optional)


  1. In a food processor, blend dates and bananas.
  2. Place the banana-date mixture in a bowl. Add cacao powder, oat flour and chia seeds. Mix until a paste forms.
  3. Form into bites and enjoy! The bites can be refrigerated for up to 1 week.
