Greek Turkey Burgers (with olive and feta)

BBQ season is in full swing and these Greek turkey burgers are on the grill!

These are not your average burgers! They’re loaded with feta cheese, kalamata olives (my favorite) and fresh parsley. I love burgers and especially love pairing them with Greek salad, veggie chips, or apple cabbage slaw. As for my burger condiments, I kept it simple with honey mustard (Maille is my FAVORITE mustard ever) and lettuce, but I also love adding tomatoes, grilled onions and cheese (when it’s not already stuffed in the burger like the feta is here). I also love honey garlic BBQ sauce in simple burgers.

What are you favorite burgers condiments? I have tried some pretty wild combinations. Last time I went to a local burger bar, I had a bison burger with blue cheese, arugula and candied pecans. It was a work of art but I must admit, the candied pecans were too much for me. You know that I looooove my sweets but the pecans just added too much sweetness to the burger for me. Sometimes when I’m restaurants (ok actually very often), I ask myself “what would Gordon Ramsay say?” If you’ve never seen his show Kitchen Nightmares, go do that now! I literally laugh out loud by myself watching it because I love his blunt reactions to the food. Gordon is my chef inspiration and if I was 12 again, you best believe I’d be auditioning to go on Masterchef Junior (another of my favorite shows). Those kids can SERIOUSLY cook.

You will need:

ground turkey

kalamata olives

feta cheese

parsley

garlic

salt & pepper

Greek Turkey Burgers (makes 4 burgers)

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. ground turkey
  • 1/4 cup kalamata olives, pitted and chopped (or olives of choice)
  • 1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup parsley, minced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

  1. Prep mixings: Chop kalamata olives, crumble feta cheese and mince parsley and garlic.
  2. In a bowl, add ground turkey, kalamata olives, crumbled feta, minced parsley, garlic and salt and pepper to taste. Mix to combine.
  3. Form into four patties and cook in a cast iron pan greased with oil.
  4. Serve in your favorite hamburger buns. Enjoy!
